Acidity Home Remedies Information

The following content is all about acidity home remedies.

Introduction to Acidity: Acidity is described as set of symptoms caused by excess production of acid by the gastric glands that are in the stomach. Stomach naturally produces gastric acid or hydrochloric acid to help digest and break down food. Acidity arise when there is excess production of acid due to triggers such as acidic foods, alcohol, dehydration and stress.

When acidity occurs the excess acid may move up from stomach to esophagus. The lining of the stomach is specially adapted to protect it from the powerful acid, but the esophagus is not protected. At the entrance stomach there is a valve, which is a valve, which is a ring of muscle called the lower esophageal spincter. Generally the lower esophageal spincter closes as soon as food passes through it. If the lower esophageal sphincter does not close all the way or if it opens too often, acid produced by the stomach can move up into esophagus.
